The series uses fast-paced slapstick comedy to convey life lessons to young viewers. Simba also makes recurring appearances throughout the show. While the show focuses primarily on Timon and Pumbaa, four episodes center respectively on Rafiki and Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed (under the names "Rafiki Fables" and "The Laughing Hyenas"), and two episodes center on Zazu.
